Anotec and NLR (Netherlands) were contracted by the EC (DG-MOVE) to conduct a series of flight tests to obtain an extensive noise database for a variety of helicopter types, covering a significant part of the European helicopter fleet. This database was required to feed the new European helicopter noise model NORAH, developed in the same Project. Flight tests followed as much as posible ICAO Annex 16 test procedures. The tests covered the whole range of normal operational procedures in order to allow for the accurate prediction of noise impact on the ground and to design low-noise flight procedures. Anotec performed two test campaigns at Marugán airfield (Spain) with a R44, AS350, B412 and S300/H269.
