Based on the results of measurements and/or modelling, areas can be defined where the noise situation needs improvement due to the incompatibility between the noise levels and land use. A detailed study is then initiated to evaluate the options available to that could lead to minimize the noise impact. For the elaboration of such Noise Action Plan, the varios elements of the Balanced Approach, developed by ICAO, will be assessed on its economical and technical feasibility.
